How it all began

How We Met

Matt and Jensen's love story began in August 2021, on a mutual friend’s boat in Orlando, FL. From the moment they met there was an undeniable spark—a connection neither could ignore. The very next day, Matt asked Jensen out on their first date, and they both felt in their hearts that something extraordinary had begun.

Just a week later, Matt flew to New York City to be with Jensen, where they spent an incredible day at the U.S. Open. Within a few weeks, they found themselves swept away to the enchanting shores of Lake Como, visiting Jensen’s friend. It was there, amidst the romance of the Italian landscape, that their souls truly intertwined. Their shared passions—for the water, exquisite food, adventure, exploration, and ultimately for each other—became beautifully clear.

Their love blossomed naturally, much like the way they live their lives: free-spirited, adventurous, and always open to the world’s wonders. Together, they have traveled the globe, enjoying every moment, every flavor, every new culture, living in the present yet dreaming fearlessly about the future.

Through their spontaneous adventures, they have always supported each other’s dreams with unwavering respect and admiration. Now, with hearts full of love and a deep sense of knowing, they are ready to write the next chapter of their story and make it official—forever.

Our Engagement

As their love story developed, Matt knew he was ready to propose. After much thought, he sought the blessing of Jensen’s father, Gene, and navigated their busy schedules to find the perfect moment. He decided the proposal should happen on the beach near their home in Palm Beach, FL. But as the day drew near, a tropical storm swept through, bringing days of rain that canceled his plans again and again. On a whim, Matt suggested they fly to Italy to visit a friend, and Jensen eagerly agreed. Within 24 hours, they were on a plane to Lake Como for a few relaxing days before the holidays.

Then, on their very first afternoon, December 19, 2023, in that beautiful place, Matt took Jensen by surprise and dropped to one knee. As fate would have it, their souls were promised to each other in the very place where they first fell in love—Lake Como. The bond they share with this enchanting place is undeniable.
